Chocolate Tasting Party
Sunday, December 10, 2006 7:20A Chocolate Tasting Party is easy to plan for with very little upfront work to be done.
A great Chocolate Party starts with great chocolate – choose your favorites. Use truffles, bonbons, or exotic chocolate bars for your tasting party. Choose contrasting flavors, shapes, and sizes.
Organize your Chocolate Tasting Party by starting with a milder chocolate (white and milk chocolate) and work up to bolder selections (bittersweet and extra-bittersweet chocolate).
Provide water at room temperature for your guests to cleanse their palates between tasting selections.
Pairing Wine with your Chocolate
When selecting wines to have at your Chocolate Tasting Party, remember the sweeter the chocolate, the sweeter the wine to serve with your chocolate.
Artisan chocolates and bars containing a range of exotic fruits, herbs and spices, have a broad selection of sparkling wines or champagnes, and fortified wines at the table to compliment these unique flavors.
Prepare Ahead of Time
Prepare your Chocolate Tasting Menu ahead of time and print it on your invitations so that your guests can bring a wine of their choosing to compliment the menu.
