For Mardi Gras Party invitations, why not create your own unique invites by using masks? Decorate them in greens, golds and purples. Attach a note card with the party details and send to guests. Remind them to bring them to the party with them!

Decorate the party location with mardi gras beads, boas and mardi gras masks. Traditional mardi gras party colors are purple, green and gold and you cannot go overboard when decorating… the more, the better!

Use gossamer to drape walls, chairs and tables. This fun, easy to use fabric makes every rom the perfect party atmosphere and comes in great colors.

Have extra mardi gras beads and masks on hand for guests who show up without.

Mardi Gras Recipes:

Mardi Gras Hurricane Recipe!
2 oz light rum
2 oz dark rum
2 oz passion fruit juice
1 oz orange juice
juice of a half a lime
1 Tbsp simple syrup
1 Tbsp grenadine
orange slice and cherry for garnish
Directions: Squeeze juice from half a lime into shaker over ice. Pour the remaining ingredients into the shaker. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass.Shrimp Creole
1/2 C oil
1/4 C flour
2 lbs. raw shrimp, cleaned
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 C onion, minced
1/2 C green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 T fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp. dried oregano
2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
1/2 C hot water
salt, pepper and hot sauce (preferably Tabasco) to taste
2 C steamed rice
Directions:
Make a light roux with flour and oil. Add shrimp and cook for 3 minutes over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, green pepper and parsley and saute for about 2 minutes. Increase heat and add water and remaining ingredients, stirring to mix. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
