Princess Party Ideas

If you plan to make your own invitations, why not get some large pink balloons, blow them up and write the party details on them with black permanent marker. (“Hear ye, Hear ye, Princess “Brittany” is turning 6″, or “Amy’s Pink Princess Party”). Deflate and mail to the guests. They will have fun blowing up the balloon to get the party details!

Decorate one chair as a throne for the birthday child to sit in as she eats cake and ice cream and opens presents. Use streamers, gossamer bows, curling ribbon, and even a helium filled balloon bouquet!

Use a solid color pink tablecloth, and scatter gold sparkle dust and shimmer stars to the tabletop. (The leftover shimmer stars can be used to line a walkway, hang on walls, and even used in a craft to make wands.)

Princess Dress Up-Relay
If you prefer not to have all the children dress-up during the party, gather two royal wardrobes (dress, cape, tiara, jewels, princess shoes, jester hats, fairy godmother wings, etc.). Split the kids in to two groups and have them line up. The first child dresses in the costume, runs the course around a pylon or marker and back to the starting line, where the next princess awaits her turn.

Musical Crown Jewels
Have all of the party guests stand in a circle. Set a pile of our tiaras on a table in the center of the circle, with one less tiara than there are children. When the music starts, the children will walk around the table, not touching the table. When the music stops, each princess needs to put on a tiara. The child left without a tiara needs to sit out. Take one tiara out and continue the game until there is one person left! The tiaras can then be awarded to all the party guests as favors.
